Mobile Shopping
The METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative tests new concepts and technologies that make shopping for customers even more convenient, eventful and informative. At the first Future Store which METRO GROUP opened in 2003, the Personal Shopping Assistant (PSA) was tested and well received by the customers. The technological development, however, advanced rapidly in recent years. Mobile phones have meanwhile become permanent companions. State-of-the-art devices can now offer more functionalities than the PSA. From METRO GROUP 's point of view, it was thus clear that the concept of the PSA had to be further developed. The focus was not on the devices themselves but on the development of a software platform for offering customer services on mobile phones. The Mobile Shopping Assistant (MSA) uses the fact that many consumers already have a mobile phone. This way, the services can be offered according to the individual demands of the single customer.
Mobile Shopping Assistant (MSA)
At the real,- Future Store, customers can borrow the Mobile Shopping Assistant (MSA) and try it out. With the MSA, they can scan the items on their own, call up product information and avoid queues at the checkout as the purchases can be paid directly at the paystation. Customers who have a certain mobile phone can also download the software for the Mobile Shopping Assistant and use their own device as an MSA. More
Mobile Shopping List
The Mobile Shopping List of real,- is available throughout Germany. This application refers to an electronic shopping list that customers can take with them anytime and everywhere. They can, for example, prepare a shopping list on Real’s website www.real.de and then access it with their mobile phone. Or they use their mobile phone to add items to the list. If the phone is equipped with an autofocus camera, they can simply scan the bar code on the packing of a product. More
Pay by Wireless
Do you appreciate safe and convenient shopping? Do you hate searching for change at the checkout? This is now possible with pay by wireless (NFC) at the real,- Future Store: Customers who have registered for this payment method can pay within a few seconds by using their own NFC-ready mobile phone. Mobile Shopping Services
METRO GROUP offers additional mobile services to the customers. The real,- body coach on a customer’s mobile phone can help keep one’s weight or to stick to a personal diet, for example. More
