The product data, such as the Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC), are stored on a Smart Chip embedded in the label. Zebra also offers UHF-based printers for on-demand printing and automated print & apply solutions. Working together with other partners within the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative, Zebra Technologies is seeking to establish uniform RFID standards and to deploy and test RFID technology under real-life conditions.

With the launch of the P4T mobile RFID printer, Zebra Technologies is leading the way in mobile radio frequency solutions. The thermal transfer printer for UHF environments prints and encodes Smart Tags in a single pass, offering users the flexibility to create labels at the point of application. Enhancing labeling accuracy and reducing walking times to and from a stationary printer, the P4T helps improve operational efficiency. It lets users combine the advantages of mobile operation and the benefits of RFID. Its drop-and-load ribbon cartridges and large, easy-to-read screen provide comfortable handling. The P4T will be available in Europe, Middle East and Asia (EMEA) as of September 2008.

Kiosk printers enhance the shopping experience at self-service applications in retail while lowering operational costs. Zebra Technologies’ new range of thermal receipt, ticket and document printers is especially designed for use in kiosks and other unattended printing stations. The printers are optimized for tough printing environments in which reliability, durability, minimal maintenance and ease of use are critical.
