Thax Software is a specialist in the practical utilization of modern identification technologies as well as digital dictation. In 1999, Thax launched its Findentity office management system which allows files, books, inventory and other objects to be identified und localized using RFID transponders. The medium- sized company has numerous other innovative applications to its name, including software for BlackBerry smartphones that enables the devices to be used as professional dictation machines and that can also be used in connection with RFID for assigning dictations to files.

As a partner of the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative, Thax Software aims to raise awareness of RFID technology in office environments. RFID is the only seamless interface between paper and electronic media. The METRO GROUP RFID Innovation Center is among many users – including the Senate Chancellery of Berlin and the Justice in North Rhine-Westphalia – already taking advantage of Findentity in their administration.

In Findentity, Thax Software offers an RFID based software that simplifies office organization significantly. Paper files, folders and books can be easily located and archived using the application. Each file is tagged with an RFID transponder that allows it to be identified. The electronic information about the file is stored in a database on a PC. The advantage of the system is that users can call up the exact location of a file on a floor plan as well as they are able to assign electronic documents, data and dictation files to the file and access them.
