 NCR FastLane Self-Checkout

 

With its self-checkout portfolio, NCR offers a tried and tested technology that has been further optimised for 11 years and combines the scanning, bagging and payment transactions in one system thereby offering retailers numerous configuration options and peripherals – from the complete self-self service solution including cash recycling through to the attendant-operated checkout with separate self-service payment station. Cash recycling allows re-issuing bank notes and coins used by one customer for paying to another customer as change.

 

NCR equips its self-service checkouts with the two-sided thermo receipt printing technology (2ST) patented by NCR. This technology allows printing the checkout receipt on the front and back side in one go. The two-sided receipt printer (2ST) can save retailers up to 45 percent on their paper usage. Another benefit: the checkout staff does not need to replace the paper rolls so often which contributes to reducing the waiting time for customers. Moreover, also additional information for the individual customer can be printed out on the receipt.

 Barcode Scanner NCR RealScan 78OFX

 

The NCR SelfServ Checkout is equipped with the bi-optic barcode scanner NCR RealScan 78OFX. This scanner materially contributes to simplifying and accelerating the scanning process: it features NCR’s Optical Effects Technology that drives more scan lines at greater lengths and improved arrangement resulting in a very dense scan line pattern that allows for an extremely high read rate.

 

Added user friendliness is achieved by the ‘Scan Advisor’ arranged at the top of the scanner, which gives users an intuitive optical feedback about the scanning process via the easily readable LED display. Particularly when it comes to self-service systems, efficient and reliable scanning is one of the essential success factors ensuring high customer acceptance.
