Jubilee: real,- Future Store firmly established as the innovation workshop of the retail sector
On the occasion of the jubilee, Real organised activity days in Tönisvorst. Customers had the opportunity to demonstrate their climbing skills or have themselves portrayed by a caricaturist, among other activities. Also the kids got their fair share: in the toys department a two meter long and five meter high LEGO locomotive was waiting to be completed.
Mobile phone applications gaining ground
Since its opening in May 2008 modern technologies and novel concepts for the retail industry have been tested at the real,- Future Store in direct contact with the customers. Many of the innovations that were successfully tested in Tönisvorst have in the meantime been deployed to numerous Real hypermarkets in Germany. This also includes the "Mobile Shopping List" for the mobile phone which Real had already introduced on the occasion of the first anniversary of the real,- Future Store. In January 2010, Real extended its service range by a free application for the iPhone – the real,- app.
Tours highly popular
In addition to customers from Tönisvorst and the region also numerous journalists, VIPs from industry and politics and school classes from all over Germany have visited the hypermarket of the future during the past two years. Whether from Taiwan, Brazil, Morocco or Israel – more than 16,000 visitors and camera teams from 43 nations have already participated in tours during the past years. With their reports they ensured that the real,- Future Store is meanwhile known well beyond the national borders.
