METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative supports "Heilpädagogisches Zentrum" (Therapeutic Education Centre)
The Real Future Store in Toenisvorst, the Initiative's workshop of the future, is located right next to the children's day-care centre. The centre provides services to 88 children between the ages of three and six and will use the donation for a project. Roland Büschges, the Manager of the day-care centre, said: "The donation will help us to improve our Waldgruppen-Projekt (Group project in the woods = nature appreciation project). We can now adapt an old trailer and buy the necessary construction and work materials." The group project in the woods offers children with lots of energy the opportunity to work off some of that energy while simultaneously channeling energy and attention for targeted learning. "We are very pleased to be able to support this therapeutic educational institution with our contribution", said Dr. Gerd Wolfram, the MGI METRO GROUP 's Managing Director for Information Technology.
Attending the presentation of the contribution at the Real Future Store's visitors' centre were:
- Roland Büschges, Manager of the day-care centre and early intervention at the Heilpädagogisches Zentrum (Therapeutic Education Centre, or HPZ)
- Dr. Gerd Wolfram, the MGI METRO GROUP 's Managing Director for Information Technology
- Dieter Licht, Section Head, Efficient Consumer Response, METRO AG
- Karl-Josef Janssen, the Managing Director of the Real Future Store
Mr Büschges was accompanied by 15 children from the day-care centre who visited the Future Store and got a glimpse at the future of shopping after the presentation of the donation.
