More time for leisure

Leisure time is a precious commodity, often cut short by various commitments. RFID offers innovative solutions to this problem. Whether on the pistes, at the beach or in a wellness oasis, the technology reduces waiting times and makes paying for services much more convenient, allowing you to manage your leisure time much more easily.

In the French winter sports resort Les Trois Vallées, RFID is used on around 200 ski lifts. Skiers carry passes with integrated RFID transponders, which register with readers when they pass the gates at the lifts. Only those who have paid are granted access. Once again, this makes waiting times a thing of the past.

The North Sea island of Norderney offers guests the NorderneyCard, an electronic card that they receive on the ferry. The card saves the date of arrival, but is primarily used for making resort tax payment convenient and easy. Payment can be made at various pay points up to the day of departure. The card also has several bonus functions: its owner can visit the beach for free, receives a reduction at cultural events and can rent beach chairs at a discount. In the future the NoderneyCard is planning to offer regular guests even more advantages.

The Neptunbad in Cologne offers its guests an exclusive fitness area, a historic art nouveau sauna and a Japanese swimming pool complex. To allow guests to pay for services quickly and easily, the wellness oasis uses RFID. Every guest receives a wristband with an integrated transponder, which serves as both a locker key and cashless form of payment. On top of that, members can access individual presets on fitness machines using their Technogym Smart Key.
