The METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative has received numerous prizes and awards.

 Planet Retail Innovation Award

 

Since 2006, Planet Retail has been presenting this award world-wide to innovations in food retailing, gastronomy and catering. This information service specializes in the commerce industry and presents its innovation award to international commercial enterprises in five categories. The real,- Future Store received an award in the "Operations – Technology" category. Additional categories include marketing and environment.

  

 ITVA Award

 

The virtual tour of the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative was awarded the bronze ITVA Award in the category "Design in Motion". The Integrated TV & Video Association (ITVA) has been promoting the use of audio-visual media in communications processes in business and institutions since 1983. Its members include producers, manufacturing partners, service providers, consultants, authors, directors, camera people, sound technicians, multimedia advisers and specialist unions.  www.itva.de

  

 BCP Best of Corporate Publishing 2007

 

The METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative magazine  "Morgenmacher" was awarded the silver medal at the BCP Best of Corporate Publishing 2007 competition. The competition is the biggest of its kind in Europe with around 580 corporate publications taking part. Products were given awards in the categories "Business to consumer", "Business to business", "Staff publications", "Electronic publishing" and "Special publications".  www.bcp-award.com

  

 PR Report Awards 2007

 

The industry magazine PR Report recognized the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative with the technology award for its trade fair appearance at CeBIT 2006. The “PR Report Awards” is a yearly event which recognizes the most successful people and campaigns in the German-speaking PR industry. The success of the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative trade fair stand was in large part due to its size: at 2,800 m² the biggest at the fair.  www.prreport.de

  

 Webby Award 2006

 

METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative received an "official distinction" for its website. The webby Award is something of an "online Oscar" and is awarded each year for outstanding performance in the areas Web design, creativity, user-friendliness and functionality. The Webby Awards are presented by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences, an association with a membership of over 500 Internet experts.  www.webbyawards.com

  

 Astrid Award 2006

 

At the Astrid Awards 2006, the Information Beauty Terminal received the silver award in the "Interactive media" category. The Information Terminal was located in the Rheinberg store and offered customers wide-ranging advice and help regarding skin care. The competition for the design of corporate publications also presents gold, silver, bronze and distinction awards in 15 categories like "Poster campaign", "Financial reports", "Brochures" and "Web design".  www.mercommawards.com

  

 LOG-IT award 2005

 

For his involvement in the research and application of RFID technology and his work in logistics and IT, Zygmunt Mierdorf, Member of the Management Board of METRO GROUP, received the LOG-IT Award in September 2005. The LOG-IT-Club, which awards the prize, is a platform for companies at the interface between logistics and IT. It promotes the development of innovative technologies.  www.log-it-club.de

  

 Supermarket of the Year 2005

 

The Rheinberg Future Store received the innovation prize "Supermarket of the Year" in 2005 thanks to its technological trail blazing and work beneficial to the entire sector. The competition recognizes the overall concept and the retailer’s willingness to innovate, as well as commercial success.  lp.lpvnet.de

  

 WorldMediaFestival award 2005

 

METRO GROUP was presented a silver award at the WorldMediaFestival 2005 for the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative website. The jury felt that the website didn’t just stand out for its aesthetic and technical qualities, but also due to its targeted use of communications. The WorldMediaFestival awards recognize excellence in modern communications media.  Percival Award 2005

 

Dr. Gerd Wolfram, Managing Director MGI METRO GROUP Information Technology, received the annual award as part of the AIM (Association for Automatic Identification and Mobility) annual conference for outstanding work towards the implementation of AIDC technologies.  www.aidc100.org

  

 Global Retail Achievement Award 2005

 

The METRO GROUP RFID Innovation Center in Neuss received the Global Retail Achievement Award 2005 for its tests, training and communication with partners from the retailing, IT and consumer goods sectors.  Fusion Award 2004

 

The American corporate newspaper RIS News presented the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative with the Fusion Award in the "Retail processes" category in October 2004. The newspaper was particularly impressed by the company’s proactive promotion of technical innovations in retailing.  European Retail Solutions Award 2004

 

Zygmunt Mierdorf, member of the Management Board of METRO GROUP, received the award in the category "Best IT retail professional" for his outstanding work on the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative and Future Store.  SIM 2004 Paper Award

 

The Society for Information Management (SIM) awarded the METRO GROUP Future Store Initiative the SIM 2004 Paper Award for the customer-friendly approach of the Future Store. SIM is a network of IT managers which supports unusual methods and strategies in IT.  www.simnet.org
